Does his ailment affect his fingers?
How are his wrists and elbows?
Can he work the slide of a pistol?
Can he operated double action trigger?
If he's not sure what his condition for shooting actually is, how about starting with an air pistol?
And a heavier weight mild caliber, like a .22, is a good idea for a firearm.
