"...for target shooting up to 600yrds..." Serious competitive target shooting or because it's so much fun? The former requires a different rifle that's usually too heavy to lug on a deer hunt.
There seems to be a shortage of ammo and brass Stateside. So find that first.
At 6 or 7 pounds, the Springfield Waypoint rifle is kind of light for serious target shooting. Be a decent hunting rifle though.
The Bergara Wilderness Ridge is primarily an 8ish pound hunting rifle.
None of that should deter you from using either one out to 600 though. Assuming you're reloading, either in .308 with 168 grain match bullets for targets and 165 grain hunting bullets for deer will do nicely.
Very big difference in MSRP though. The Springfield is considerably more money.
