Not sure where this comes from....An SBR and pistol could have the same barrel length.
If you don't like blast and flash, quit shooting long barrel rounds from a short barrel. Perhaps something like 300 AAC Blackout or similar would be more to your liking. Or perhaps adding a linear comp?
I find my 300 BO much more tolerable than my 20" 5.56 with a muzzle brake!
