The word from the SHOT show from manufacturers is that the 2013 production is on back order. That means that one should get on a list at the nearest friendly FFL and wait for delivery. I'd certainly shop around and find one who will do a usual markup, not a panic price. Months? Who knows?
I'd guess that prices will drop back a lot from the panic level, but likely a bit higher due to higher materials costs and the usual problems for the manufacturers. I wouldn't be surprised at a 10% increase in average retail pricing.
