+ 1 on the 700 . It is a proven hunting rifle with a good upgrade path . I also would consider The rew Ruger American Rifle . It to is made in the US . I own one and like it very much . There is only one down side that I see with the American . There is no upgrade ability . Because it's a new rifle there are no after market parts for it . It's accurate right out of the box .Has a good trigger and bolt and is a good value .I paid right around $400 out the door .
