Unless you're going to practice your presentation drills and weapon retention... I'd vote for a DAO (concealed hammer) revolver. It'll always work, and can hang out in your jacket pocket... WITH your hand on it... AND no one's the wiser.

Now that I've gotten my wheelgun jones out... since this is a SEMIAUTO forum, I like my XD40. It just works... PERIOD.
