ammo cans for shotgun shells?

So I asked this question over on THR, looking for some input here. I'm looking to store all my 2 3/4" buck and slugs inside their 5 round boxes stacked and layered in an ammo can (s). Capacity is less important than the shells not sliding, bouncing or shifting. The MG42 looks good, the 50 cal MAY work, but I can't tell. Short of brining a pocket full of empty shotshell boxes into my army navy surplus, what would you do to determine a good box for this? Keep in mind I'm looking to store these inside their original boxes and I wouldnt mind being ablt to cut and measure some bubble wrap to line the sides and be able to throw in a few desiccant packets on top before sealing it.
