I was in New Orleans last month. It was hot and humid and that hasn't changed much so bring the smallest pea-shooter you've got. You'll be fine in the French Quarter while the sun is up, but steer clear of Central City; the murder rate is 346/100,000. I'm not kidding. Also bring sunglasses since everyone down there has at least 7 shiny gold teeth that can blind you.
