Colt uses a mag well adapter to get the 5.56 mag to fit. You would need the Colt 5.56 upper and I assume it comes with a different bolt head. I don't see how they can make the 7.62 bolt head work with the 5.56 case. Those Colt parts are gonna cost??? A buffer tuned for 7.62 ain't gonna like 5.56.
