G. willikers makes a good point about starting with the hole.
1) Get plate that is the same diameter as the extractor. Lay it out with dykem.
2) Drill the hole. Everything you do from this point on will be measured off that hole.
3) You can use a belt sander for heavy removal but always resort to the hand file for small jobs. If there's a spring & plunger for extractor tension, drill that hole second. Make sure the plunger fits into it. Now do the rest of the outline.
4) Go slow on the extractor hook.
Get dummy cartridges to test extraction.
