I would be very careful. Loads developed for the 45 Colt are almost always developed using 45 Colt brass. I would not want to find out how the differences in case volume of the trimmed 45 Casull case would effect pressures in the Black Hawk.

I would go the other way, and use 45 Colt brass and heavy (but safe) 45 Colt loads in both guns.
