This was happening to me a few months back and I posted a thread here
http://thefiringline.com/forums/show...ight=scratches. I got alot of advice about polishing and the likes, but one fella suggested I give the die a good cleaning with some copper solvent.
Since this approach seemed the least labor intensive, I tried it. Guess what? Yep, Problem solved!
Before you do anything else, take your die apart and give it a really, really good scrubbing with some sort of bore solvent. Let it dry, relube it and see if that fixes your problem. If so, no need for polishing! Yeah!
