Ditto Wes. Why's he selling?

I hunt with a SuperRedhawk, but have a 4" M44 that I use on the range. Like them both. Also agree with Wes that the Ruger is better quality (as would be a used Smith & Wesson), but the Taurus should be a fine hunting gun.

With regard to hunting with the 44, the gun and cartridge are capable of clean kills out to 100 yards. But shot placement is everything. At the range, I'd tack 6" pie plates on movable target stands and move them back until you find the distance at which you can keep all six shots on the plate from field (not a bench rest) positions. That should be your maximum hunting range.
