I've carried both the Gen 3 and the Gen 4 G19 for the past fifteen years. I've always found it to be a good fit for me. Over the past fifteen years I've worked both patrol (uniform) and investigations (plain clothes) and the 19 has done just fine in both categories. It also adapts to off duty (CCW) carry effortlessly. I like the G17, but the longer barrel and grips does make concealment a bit more problematic. For what it's worth I've run through my agency's qualification course over the years with the G17, G19, G45 and G26 and my scores are always within a point or two despite which model I am shooting.
