I love my .45 but hate picking up brass, and losing it! Even at the indoor range, I end up losing some because it flies out in front of the lanes and you can't go get it there! (I try to make up for it by picking up any 45 brass I see that is unclaimed at the range, though.) Out in the desert, I stil seem to lose a few every time I go out. I buy used brass from Midway or at a gunshow. Since I'm not shooting competition and I don't load anywhere near max, I don't worry about mixing brass. If I were to worry too much about it, I wouldn't shoot as much!
