There are a few problems with that setup - I have seen it fired.
1. Aiming - mostly they depend on a laser, which is hard to see in bright sunlight.
2. Technique - If you try to shoot if from the 'carry' position, recoil usually makes you shoot yourself in the leg. The preferred technique was to brace the case laterally just above the belt line.
3. Brass - as brass builds up in the case, it causes jams.
Nice idea, looks good in the movies, but I question it's usefulness on the two way range.
