Like most soundbite terms there is no such thing as the "Gun Show Loophole" what the Bradys are talking about is the lack of a required background check for private sales between those who are not firearms dealers. The reason they use Gunshow in the term is because they believe that a gunshow is where most of these sales take place. What I have not seen is how many crime guns are obtained through private sales without a backgound check at a gunshow.
