The P22 is a fun little plinker but don't think it would be very good for concealed carry, other than the fact that it's small size would make it quite easy to conceal. The P22 is not too accuarate and it's .22lr has minimal, if any, stopping power.

I'd look at some of the .380s or even some of the small 9mms. At least get her to try shooting some of them at a local range.
