Yeah, I may have been a bit high with that estimate. I was taking into account that the 19-5 does not have the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder of the 19-4, which is more sought-after by collectors, and that nickel finishes appeal to a smaller number of shooters than blue.
Depends on whether you have the factory grips and original box, tools, and paperwork, which can bump the price a bit for collectors or people interested in reselling later.
Also depends on what model of the 686 it is. Pre-lock is more desirable than the current guns (by some buyers).
The 19 has scarcity going for it - they aren't making them anymore. But the new 686s are rather expensive, so that keeps the price of used ones high too.
So I would think that your 19 would sell for between 500 and 650, and a good 686 would sell for between 550 and 750.
That's based on what I've seen on Gunbroker, which may not be a fair representation of your local market.
