Ethics and morals aside, I still question the intelligence behind this train of thought....

Leave the 9mm holstered unless it is needed to dispatch the deer after a less than perfect rifle shot. Part of being a hunter is to ensure that you can make a quick and clean kill, even if your shot is not perfectly true. You need a better margin of error that the 9mm does not give you.

If you want more of a challenge then try shooting the deer in the neck when they are within 50 yards. Please, for the sake of the sport and ethics, drop the idea of hunting deer with a 9mm...
