Back in the pre-digital days I developed my own photos .I had problems with the enlarger lens fogging . It turned out to be that the lens was stored in a styrofoam case .The styrofoam outgased causing the problem. I had a car notorious for windows fogging -from plasticizer inn the vinyl !!!
