It's worse then that. Only Reeder has frames for the maximum in production, and only the Reeder/BFR frame is really thick enough in the top strap area for really stupid, heavy loads.
The actual rights to that frame are owned by BFR, and, they are sitting on it, not producing the guns. It's too bad, since their big frame guns are too big, and, they only produce the regular frame length guns, otherwise.
While I have a Ruger Maximum in 500 MAX, it makes more sense to have a much stronger frame, designed for the higher volume of gases, and top strap cutting the 500 Max can put out.
Gary Reeder has always been cordial, and nice to me, but, I don't ask him stupid questions, either.
