It's pretty much the same for both...
A lead bullet and between 8 and 12 or so grains of a pistol-type powder, such as Red Dot or Unique.
I used to load 10.5 grains in my Remington 722 .300 Sav. as a squirrel load with a lead 125-gr. bullet. Gave me about 1100-1200 fps, and was EXTREMELY accurate, but quite dirty.
One thing you do want to do is with every round you chamber, elevate the muzzle just before shooting to get the powder back down around the primer. That way you get better ignition and accuracy.
