Browning makes a 1911-22 that is 80%(?) of the fullsize 1911, that would be great for smaller hands. I have one and its been the only .22 I've owned to have no malfunctions with any type of ammo I put through it. The biggest drawback to this gun is the price tag however, if you aren't on a budget I would suggest giving it a look.

Here is the Browning 1911-22 next to my Auto Ordnance.
