I for one have not figured out what the big deal is about the short mags. My plain old .270 and 300 winchester have been killing deer and elk just fine for me for years. I could care less about action length. Frankly I think it is mostly advertising hype and much ado about nothing.
I sure see a lot of newer shooters with them. 99% of which cannot shoot a 30-06 to its true potential, so what in the heck are they doing with "magnums"??
