I just got mine.
There are some milsurps that I plan on owning, and given that the license is the cost of one transfer- and is good for three years- it didn't make sense not to get it.

I do think it tends to make some guys pay more for guns than they may really be worth since they can get it "themselves"...not a big deal in my book.

Since a transfer only costs me $30, having a C&R is not a solution to high FFL transfer fees. From what I understand, transfers cost a lot more in some areas, and that can make the C&R more important for those that want to buy more than one or two eligible weapons.
