No you dont need to lube the carbide die set pistol cases, but ordinary steel ones do... as the effort comes a chore withoutit ...as well as being bad practice and leading to wear or even a stuck case.(a real chore)
Good point about clean cases for especially carbide dies as they are tough but can scratch/wear with quartz grit which can actually embed into the soft brass!
