Scratches are either a sign of a hard life as a tool in unpredictable woods etc... or they are signs of avoidable happenstance or outright abuse...
On a skeet gun, that would be the latter except on the new "Extreme 5-Stand/Skeet/Sporting Clays" fields where you have to belly crawl thru hog tunnels and wade the beaver pond with 3 "hazards" of barbed wire fence to cross between stations...
