You're comparing apples to oranges.

The Desert Eagle is a very limited pistol, and not very powerful compared to the .500 S&W.

A far better choice than either is the S&W .460. You can use 460 ammo, .454 Casull ammo, or .45 colt ammo. And the .460 is FAR more powerful than the .50AE.
