Constantine: I started with 38spl then 357Mag the 1911 was my backup Then the city issued and required us to carry S&W model 15's with Fed +P+ 110gr 38spl's (treasury load). Then the city went to Sig's in 9mm. The .40 and 357Sig are my choice. with the .40 & 357Sig you can use both with the 226 just change barrels no mag or recoil spring change is needed
