Remingtons have always been throated REALLY, REALLY long...always. (all calibers, all models)
2.82"- 2.83" is about as long as you can fit in the magazine.
You can load them longer...but you will have to feed them by hand. (around 2.90"...but be sure to check for yourself that this is not touching the lands...it won't be, but its best to be sure.
