1/ Find out what your state laws actually are. Not just what you have heard.
2/ Start looking for the no guns allowed signs every where you go.(if signs at some of your regular store be sure to look at other of the same type to see if they also have the signs)
3/ Decide if you can live with it or if you will find CCW to be more of a hassle than you want to deal with.
4/ Act in accordance with your choice. Should you chose not to CCW there should still be class's out there to learn handgun basic.
