I mainly carry the 10mm for defense against humans and large animals. I might some day use it to hunt javalina or other game.

For human beings, several of the 165-180 gr JHP loads that I've tested would be perfectly adequate. (You can see the other tests on my Youtube channel, if you care)

For large animals, any 180 gr or heavier solid would do well. The heavier it is and the flatter the meplat, the better it should perform. A 200 gr XTP at about 1,200 fps would be a good compromise load for camping that expands as well as penetrates deeply enough to be useful for defense against animals like the small black bear or cougars in my neck of the woods.

I think I'd choose a 155 gr Gold Dot for javelina.

I'm not particularly impressed with any of the loads I tested today.
