Spanish Model 1916 short rifle, built on the 1893 Mauser pattern action (the action on a 1895 is similar, but the stock is different). Look at the bolt shroud. And yes, it could be converted to 7.62X51mm, so have it checked.
1909 Argentines were in the white, had a pistol grip, and are a 1898 Mauser pattern rifle.
