Seems to me what you look for should be based on what you intend to use it for, then what you want to pay for it. For a basic SD that's accurate within its likely range and reliable, new Bersa .380s are what my wife and I chose, well within your price criterion. I have other SD handguns I like as well, but the Bersa Thunder Concealed Carry is a frequent choice for daily use.
