Your "suspicions" are pretty much suspect when it comes to claiming that an RIA BabyRoc comes anywhere close to what constitutes a legitimate 1911-inspired configuration (past appearance, that is).
Design (i.e., Mr. Browning's rendition) trumps material (i.e., steel vs aluminum) every time when it comes to defining what it means to constitute a 1911-styled pistol.
