There are several very good choices for a full size 9. M&P is one of the best.
You have the Shield, so get the M&P 4.25" and avoid back and forth adjustments to different guns. Mine is superb (first gen with Apex trigger). I have also have an M&P compact. And others - Glock, Ruger, Kahr. The M&Ps operate and feel the same. Others have a different grip and trigger feel plus other dissimilarities that can affect your speed and accuracy at the wrong time.
