Kadmos- good advice.
Only thing that I might add would be this:

Stabilize the cylinder using two well fitted dowels on a base.

Place it on a drill press table and lock it down.

Apply a down-ward force via the drill press arbor onto the ted cash nipple

wrench. (just enough force to keep the wrench from racking off the nipple)

Carefully apply force to the ratchet while applying downward force.

I've used this method a couple of times removing nipples from 1860 Centaur

cylinders. Worked both times.
