I'm pretty sure that Ruger's SP101 is double action, meaning both single and double available.

Here's an option someone else mentioned - a S&W Model 66 with a 3" barrel:



Balance and feel are great. That's a 66-4 from the early 1990s so hammer mounted firing pin, no MiM parts and no dangled hole for a lock. The 2-1/2" K frames are easier to find and cost less but the ejector rod isn't full length.
