It was very fortunate that this happened on the last round. I only noticed it because I had to reload. Had it happened on any other round, the gun would have still been at arms length and I probably would not have noticed it.

Sounds like a B.S. Taurus basher post!!! No credibility what so ever!
Not to say that there haven't been substantiated problems with Taurus. But no need to make them up! Especially something as unbelievable as a top strap blowing apart without being noticed.
