Personally, if you have your heart on a Remington 700, I would look for a older one. Back before Freedom Group took over. To me they are better made back then. I have a early 90's ADL in .270 and my dad has a early 70's BDL in .270. His to me is a nicer rifle. Have you thought about a Savage Axis? It's surprisingly accurate and light.
