There are many different rounds used for sniper work. Depending on the area, purpose, range, and many other things.

There isnt one do-all round for use as a "sniper"

I dont think many of us here are snipers per-se but there are a few people who shoot long range varmints and targets. There are many many different calibers that can be used for these purposes.

The longest shots I have taken were about 300 yards and they were on game animals.
