Many people consider Taurus "junk", but I disagree. I feel that Taurus makes a good product for the money. I own a PT-92 in 9mm (same frame as the PT100). It's a fun shooter, and as accurate and reliable as my brother's Beretta 92FS, at about $200 less. To me, the grips felt cheep, so I replaced them with a set of Hogue, which really improved the comfort, and helped with accuracy.

I own much more expense Walthers, Sigs, and Berettas, but the Taurus always makes it into the "range" bag, every time I go. If you're looking for a value priced pistol built after the Beretta 92 frame, you can't go wrong with the Taurus PT-92, PT-99 or PT-100 series.
