I think this sort of sums it up. The Forty Fad is waning.

The Hi-Power is a classic and, like the 1911, is best served in it's original cartridge. It's similar to the reason that most 1911's are manufactured in .45 ACP

Add on top of that the fact that younger pups aren't all that interested in classic steel designs.
