I've had quite a few 1911's, can't say I've put 1000's of rounds through my Sig C3, but i've done a bit more than 700, to include factory and reloads.
Never had an issue, it's my second favorite 1911, favorite being a Dan Wesson CCO.
In fact, the only 1911 (to include 2 Taurus models) i've had problems with was a Ed Brown Kobra Carry, didn't matter, ammo, magazines, whatever, it had problems. Sold it.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Sig 1911.
