I like your criteria . If the extra capacity matters to u (and it should) the smith is the clear winner. 12 vs 10. I will admit the Ruger is a hair smaller with more rounded edges, probably a little easier to conceal. On a Side note, I own the smith 9c and have the mags equipped with Mec-gar + 2 base plates (only lengthens the grip a little bit, no more than the pinky extension does) just remove the pinky extension and replace with the mec-gar base plates. Now you have 14 rounds of 9mm in a compact gun. Not sure if the same trick works on the ruger
