Keep in mind that a lot/most people who say their gun is flawless have done nothing more with it than shoot at a static range (not putting anyone down here).
The sub 4.25" 1911s tend to have problems more often than their bigger brothers, but that is not to say that some do not work correctly. I simply see these guns not working right in courses and IDPA matches where things are "slightly" more realistic (not a full grip, dirty, sweaty, etc), more often than not. Just make sure you test the crap out of it before you trust it with your life.
