The fact is that I really don't shoot nearly as much as I used to. And my interests have shifted from modern military style rifles to older surplus and muzzleloaders.
I've been whittling my collection for a few years, and have yet to miss something that I've sold.
The rifle was an investment that I figured I may sell if/when i needed to recoup the funds invested. With the "frenzy" currently upon us, it may be the best time to sell. Also, in the worst case scenario, the future transfer may be very difficult, if not impossible.

Some of the money will go into savings, some will be spent on a long motorcycle tour I've been wanting to do. And at least a little bit will be sent to the NRA-ILA.

Basically, it comes down to changing interests and other hobbies.
