I've had two confrontations, one with a big revolver (7 1/2" barrel) and the other with a small semi-auto. Fortunately both guns were deterrents (the perps gave up without any shooting) but the revolver was more noticeable and the two perps stopped dead in their tracks. BUT two confrontations isn't enough to make conclusions- a sawed off double barrel shotgun- probably very good.
