No... I can't imagine that the Secret Service would think this was a good idea.

What would be nice, though, would be to see Gov. Perry, or any other candidate for that matter, make much of the fact that under current law, even as President, as a civilian and a D.C. resident, he (or she ) wouldn't be allowed to carry a gun -- it seems to me that the value to the gun rights movement of such a stance would be far greater than any possible benefit a President would derive from declaring himself (yet again ) above the law and entitled to carry one "because he's the President and he says so."

A little solidarity might go a long way toward actually fixing the current D.C. mess, for the benefit of everyone who lives there...
